Hi everyone! It’s just few more sleeps until Christmas – hasn’t that crept up fast? Luckily I think I’m pretty much sorted for most of it – we’re just waiting to hear back
This has been the first year we’ve had a little Christmas tree – and although it is little it’s still pretty awesome. There are lots of things hanging out in that tree, including (but not limited to) Bulbasaur, BB8, rainbow fish and Pharah from Overwatch.
All that aside – here are a few things I’ve been enjoying recently.
Strictly Come Dancing BBC1
Strictly is not a show that I’ve followed since the first couple of years, but this year I thought I would give it a go – and I bloomin’ fell in love with the drama, music, dancing and glitter. I’m officially now a Strictly fan I am just SO sad that it’s over until next year. The musical theatre episode was just so SO good. I won’t spoil the end in case you haven’t seen it, but I’m very happy with the winner!
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
I read this book a few years ago and I remember flying through it. When I needed something fluffy and quick to read this month I picked this up and I fell in love with it all over again. It’s definitely not as fluffy as I remember though, the ending was brilliant and emotional and I sort of just stared into space for a bit in a melancholy stupor after I finished it. I just need a sequel now please and thankyou Rainbow Rowell.
Adobe Lightroom CC
I’ve owned and used Adobe Lightroom for a long time, but usually my editing workflow uses Adobe Bridge and Photoshop together. Seeing as I am taking on more retouching work and Lightroom seems to be the favourite, I re-installed it on my computer and had a bit of a play with it – OH. MAN. Okay, I get why people use Lightroom for editing sessions now. It’s almost identical to the way I usually edit, apart from the fact it’s more organised and intuitive. It saves me time, makes me more organised and get’s me better results. I think I’m sold for everything I do in the future now.
Pokémon Ultra Moon
I’ve been playing the Pokemon games ever since I got Pokemon Yellow on my Gameboy Colour as a child, so whenever a new games comes out it’s really exciting and I lose myself in the game for a little while. This has been no exception. It’s such a captivating and comforting game to play I am really loving it. I’ve almost completed the main storyline – just got the league to go!
I haven’t had a chance to do this too much this month, but I spent some time sitting with my watercolours making Christmas cards, trying out painting wreaths and flowers. It’s really calming and actually surprisingly easy to get a decent result. The youtube channel I’ve been following for this is called Wonder Forest and I recommend it if you are a beginner at watercolours and want to give it a go.
Let me know what you have been loving recently as I’m always willing to try something new and get inspired!
Hope you’re having a lovely holiday season,
